Hola Cuba! Free Concert at the University of Leeds on Friday 20 April at 6pm

Free Cuban Music concert by students from the School of Music at The Clothworkers Centenary Hall,the University of Leeds 6pm (refreshments from 5.30pm). A Cuban Music Big Band plus a charanga line-up and son band directed by Sue Miller perform the dance styles son, son montuno, descarga (jam session) , pachanga, danzon and chachacha.

Teaching News

I am currently teaching Cuban music courses for undergraduates at the University of Leeds and flute, saxophone and piano at Yorkshire College of Music.

I will also be musical director of a course in traditional Cuban dance music in Havana in 2010 (alongside veteran Charanga and Son musicians) so do contact me via the contacts page if you’re interested in this .

I am currently undertaking a PhD part-time at the University of Leeds, UK, where I combine my practical work as a performer with more traditional research methods.
